A House Republican introduced a resolution to condemn and censure House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) for making up the conversation between President Trump and the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Given the gravity of impeachment, House Freedom Caucus Chairman-elect Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) introduced the motion on Friday, Sept. 27, accusing Schiff of his “false retelling” during the hearing Thursday on the whistleblower complaint.
“Democrats previously initiated an impeachment inquiry, which leads to one of the most serious, constitutional duties of members of Congress: removal of the president of the United States,” Biggs said in a statement.
“Through this process, if the president has committed high crimes or misdemeanors, Congress may overturn the election of the president and the will of the American people. It is therefore inexcusable to toy with the process and mislead the American public with such a statement,” he added.
At the opening of the hearing, Schiff, rather than read from the transcript as it exists, offered a fabricated version of the conversation, including saying that President Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “seven times” to “make up dirt on my political opponent.”
Biggs proclaimed that Schiff’s comments were an “egregiously false and fabricated retelling” that “had no relationship to the call itself,” asserting Schiff’s actions “misled the American people, bring disrepute upon the House of Representatives, and make a mockery of the impeachment process, one of this chamber’s most solemn constitutional duties.”
A lot of patriots have openly condemned Adam Schiff, Stefanik also signed a resolution to condemn and censure Schiff, a Democrat from California, for “manufacturing a false dialogue” between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy during a House Intelligence Committee meeting, she said on Twitter Wednesday afternoon. That resolution was introduced on Friday by an Arizona Republican who leads the House Freedom Caucus and has been supported by 20 other Republicans, including the House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
Also, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Wednesday he has signed a resolution to censure House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff.
“Chairman Adam Schiff has been lying to the American people for years. Now he is so desperate to damage the president he literally made up a false version of a phone call,” Mr. McCarthy, a California Republican, said in a tweet.
